The Guevara Palace or the House of Columns is the most significant of all the examples of secular baroque architecture in the city. Built over a lengthy period, it owes its final form to the works carried out between 1691 and 1705 by don Juan de Guevara García de Alcaraz, a Knight of the Order of Santiago.
