Would you like to join a guided tour of one of the most important monuments in the Region of Murcia in English? At Lorca Castle this spring, there is a chance to do just that.
The visit starts at the Reception of the Castle. You can go all over the fortress with an audioguide in English: see the ancient border from the top of the Espolón tower, walk following the walls like a medieval soldier and go into the different cisterns, places used to collect water, to know more about life in castles.
Then you will see an amazing XVth Jewish Quarter with a guide in English who explain you everything about this neighbourhood located into the premises of the castle walls. Throughout archaeological works some houses have been discovered. Different spaces have been identified such as living rooms, kitchens, stores and other rooms with benches placed against the walls, tinajeros (clay vessels), larders, raised bedrooms, etc.
Following your guide in English you will go inside the Synagogue, the most representative and the best preserved building of the Jewish quarter or Lorca. Date from the XVth Century, this religious centre is unique in the world by its collections of crystal lamps and for being the only Synagogue open for visiting in Spain that was not converted in a Christian temple.
And to finish, you will taste a lunch in our restaurant, Las Caballerizas del Castillo.
